A BREIF SUMMARY ON OUR COMMITTEE's:

  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): The UNHRC is tasked with promoting and protecting human rights globally, addressing violations, and making recommendations for improvement. It serves as a forum for dialogue on human rights issues affecting all member states.
  • United Nations Security Council (UNSC): The UNSC is responsible for maintaining international peace and security, often through peacekeeping missions, sanctions, or military action. It holds the power to make binding decisions for all UN member states.
  • United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UNWOMEN): UNWOMEN promotes gender equality and women's empowerment worldwide, working to eliminate discrimination and violence against women and girls. It collaborates with governments and civil society to implement global norms and standards for gender equality.
  • Disarmament and International Security Council (DISEC): DISEC focuses on issues related to disarmament, global arms control, and threats to international security. It discusses ways to reduce weapons proliferation and resolve conflicts through peaceful means.
